More Christmas Cheer

Morning crafty peeps, Here is another of my Christmas creations. Most likely by the time I'm done, I'll have about 6-7 styles of cards. I mean let's be honest, making 150 of the exact same style would be pretty boring!!
Since I'm from Canada, I love the snow. However, living in Florida, the magical white stuff is in pretty short supply. Because of this, many of my Christmas stamps are snowmen. This little guy is from Art Impressions. The paper is from Webster's Pages, and of course he's colored in with Copic markers.
The raised part of the image is done using Wobbles. It adds fun movement to the cards.
Finally the saying is from Hero Arts, an older stamp, and I added a bit of shine using snowflake stickers.

I hope everyone has fun plans for the weekend, and happy crafting!

Christmas in July

Hi my fellow crafters, As many of you know, I usually send out a crazy amount of handmade Christmas cards. Due to this, I begin the process in May. Here is one of my latest creations...
The stamp is from Nothwoods Rubber Stamps and I used a watercolor technique.
I stamped the stamp with Ranger's Pitch Black pigment ink, clear heat set embossed it, and then did watercolors. The stamp was stamped onto watercolor paper to help with blending. The shiny material is Washi tape.
Finally what would Christmas be without glitter!!!
Hope everyone has a great week and happy crafting!!

#G45Tag Challenge

Hi my crafty friends: Did I mention that I'm absolutely in love with the Master Detective line from Graphic 45? Below is another tag I made using their paper...
With this tag, I added a few grunge accents that I painted gold, along with the lock from Graphic 45.
Hope you can find inspiration to create your own work of art! Take care everyone and happy crafting!!

Scrumpdilicious Summer Fun

Whew, the weekend is so close. There were times this week when I didn't think I'd make it. I participated in one of the challenges over at Colorful Creations. I'm participating in their color combination challenge...
Most of the participants did scrapbook layouts, but of course I had to put my own twist on things...
This card was made with the new stamp set I bought at Prickley Pear. I do love cupcakes, so this set was right up my alley LOL.
I added small flowers that I bought at Hobby Lobby, and added glitter to the cherries. I also used my white gel pen for a bit of added texture. I finally added silver photo corners to tie everything together.
Why not join in the fun? Hope everyone has a great weekend and happy crafting!!

Graphic 45 Tag Challenge

Hi all my crafting peeps out there, I put an entry into the Graphic 45 Tag Challenge.
I used paper from the Master Detective line, which I love by the way. I also bought a package of Journaling & Ephemera cards so that I could pop up certain elements.
Lastly I used flowers from Petaloo, Hobby Lobby and dyed silk ribbon all of which was put onto one of the tags from their Large Kraft Tag Albums.
This was fun to create, also because I love Sherlock Holmes. Don't hesitate to leave a comment or ask a question and Happy Crafting!!!

Organization

I'm often asked how I store my stamps. I thought I'd do a quick post about how my stamps are stored and what organization system works best for me. First off, I try to buy only cling stamps or unmounted stamps. If they come on wood blocks, I unmount them. Basically I don't really have a trick, I just pull them off the wood and rubber mounts, so that I'm only left with the red rubber. I then create a laminate sheet, using cardstock and packing tape. This is the side that I stick the stamps to, I then stamp then on a separate sheet, as an index and attach the index onto the front of the laminate side. I stamp the index separately because if I make a mistake, it's easier to simply replace the index rather than trying to pull apart the laminate sheet. I didn't come up with this idea, How to Make Unmounted Stamp Storage Packets. This was the starting point for me. For the red rubber unmounted stamps, I put Aleene's Tack it Over & OVer, so that the rubber will stick to my stamp blocks. Now keep in mind, this is not an overnight process. I worked on this over time, and still have a bit more to do, but below is the finished project...
This way my stamps are out and easily accessible. Don't hesitate to ask me questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

Birthday Card

Hi everyone, I hope that you all are enjoying your weekend. I've been taking a bit of time off and just enjoying a few moments of quiet. That hasn't stopped me though from crafting. Below is a birthday card I've made for my niece's upcoming 6th birthday...
I can't remember the name of the stamp company to save my life, but it was colored in with Copic markers and the paper is from a paper pack at Hobby Lobby.
I also used a Spellbinder die cut and added some glitter for pizazz, then I stamped the inside with a birthday greeting.
This card was a lot of fun, happy crafting everyone!!

Crafty Travels

Hello my crafty peeps, I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend. I've been out traveling to local scrapbook/stamp stores, plus visiting a stamp show held in Kissimmee. First my friends and I headed to Violettes Scrapbook Store in Lakeland, Florida.
The store is wonderful and I highly recommend stopping if in the area. There is so much to see, and there is literally something in every corner. Our next stop was Stampfest. They have shows in the winter and summer, which last for two days. Usually the day before the show hosts a variety of fun classes and a make n take event.
Here we look pretty and refreshed at the beginning of the event, unfortunately that couldn't be said by the time we left. Our arms were exhausted from carrying around all our goodies and my wallet was tired from being opened and closed so much! I don't know what possessed us, but we then decided to do an impromptu road trip to WhimSoDoodlein St. Petersburg, FL.
If you are a mixed media artist or enjoy scrapbooking outside the box, this is the place for you! Overall the trip was amazing. We did encounter a few hiccups along the way, torrential rain and crazy traffic, but we persevered. Now onto some crafting. Hope everyone has a great 4th of July and had a wonderful Canada Day!!
