Rediscovery

Lately I've been wanting to start using my older supplies.  Swipe the dust off them and rediscover why I purchased them in the first place.
I used a stencil with molding paste.  Before the paste was dry I sprinkled on mica powders.
There are different types of mica powders, the ones from Ranger have a binder in them, so you can use them with Versamark.
Others are normally used as an additive to your paints, pastes etc.  It's these that I used.
Then, I used my heat gun and heat set the molding paste until it started to bubble, which at this point it melded with the mica powder.
I let the piece cool, used a soft brush and brushed away the excess, and VOILA!!
This was all done on a piece of matboard.

The flowers are from Prima, I lightly dusted them with wet glue and dipped them into Distress Glitter.

Next I put double sided tape along the outside of the card base.
Using the same colors, and the soft brush, I brushed the powder onto the tape, which captured the powder perfectly.

The card is far from finished, so you'll just have to stay tuned to see the final product.!!

Beauty

Afternoon all:
Prima is having a DT call for the month of June...DT Call.  So I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring.
This is an ATC that I did for our swap group about a month ago.  It's using Prima Princess Stamp, Maia.  The stamp itself measures about 4 x 6, so I only used her face.
I colored her in with Copic markers and added a touch of glitter with pearls.
Just because you have large stamps, doesn't mean you can't use them for smaller projects.  Try only using a portion of the stamp!  This only means less coloring for those afraid to wade into the sea of colors, lol!

Hope you have a great rest of your weekend and happy crafting!

Latest Creation

Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great week so far.  My weekend started off a bit bumpy but life sure has a way of balancing things out.
I managed to create a few things, below is one of them...
The image is from a company called Stamp Annie Thing.  They have a lot of great images, that you should definitely check out.

I also decorated the inside with a few flowers. The paper is from Hobby Lobby and I colored her in with Copic markers.
Then I added some glitter to her shirt & hair using Wink of Stella, plus the paper already had wonderful glitter on it.

I hope everyone's week continues to be great and happy crafting!!

OMG, I can't believe that it's been since July 2015 since my last post.  Time sure does fly.  I have to say, most of my time has been taken up with easing into my new job.
Yup, that's right, I am now the Administrative Assistant to the District Manager at Hobby Lobby.  There are times when I still can't believe how fortunate me and my family are.

But the real reason I'm back is that now that my schedule has evened out a bit, I have begun teaching classes again.  Even though I am now working at the Mandarin location, I teach out at the Beach Blvd. store since it is right around the corner from my house.

My first class is a card making class...
You will make these three cards in the class.

The one after that is going to be a scrapbooking class...
 This is a 2 page 12x12 layout.

All you need to do is bring your basic tool kit.  The card class is $12 and the scrapbook class is $15.

Just email me and let me know if you are interested, and the registration closes on Thursday, Feb 4, this is so I have time to prepare the kits.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend.

Julie Nutting Dolls

Bonjour my fellow crafters,

I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer.  Hard to believe that we are mid-August already.  I got back last week from a weekend scrapbooking retreat and it was a blast.

Just slept, ate and crafted for 2 1/2 solid days!  Awesome!!!  I'm going to start posting a few of the projects that I worked on while I was there.  Here is the first one using Julie Nutting Dolls by Prima...
I made a carry case from a tutorial video that I found on YouTube Mini Doll Cases Here is what the case looks like closed.  I haven't finished decorating the outside yet, so it's kind of underwhelming...
Here is what you see when you open up the case...
I was originally going to make her steampunk, but I was using the Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells paper and the halloween theme seemed to work better.  The drawers on the right are faux drawers, and here is a close up of the elements...
The gear is a sticker, the vial of "potion" is from Tim Holtz, filled with glitter while the clock is a charm I had lying around, now...

I free handed the hat, the flowers are from Prima while the word charms are Tim Holtz.
Now finally the cat is an old charm I've had for about 100 years and the hour glass is also a sticker.  These dolls are great to play with, I'm gonna try a beach themed one next also maybe play with a Christmas type carrying case.

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting,

Take care from Jodie - AKA The Caffinated Crafter!

Yes I'm Back

Good Day my fellow crafters,

Well, as you are all aware, life can certainly cut into your crafting time, and that is what has happened to me.  I couldn't believe that a month had gone by since my last post, but I hope to make amends with the inspiration of my lastest creation...

I've been working with the Julie Nutting girl stamps, even joined a challenge group for the stamps!  I paper pieced her outfit using "Collecting Moments" by Fancy Pants, then colored in her skin and hair using the following Copic Markers...

Skin - E000, E00, E02, E11 & BV02
Hair - E11, YR24, E37, E47

The dolls are great to work with, lots of space for coloring & paper piecing, I'll try to post more in the upcoming weeks, but here is Graycie helping me out with the presentation.  She wouldn't move, so what was I to do lol...

I hope everyone has a wonderful day, take care & happy crafting...
