World Wide Open DT Challenge

Hi my crafty peeps, The latest challenge over at World Wide Open Challenge Design Team blog is open. Why not hop on over and enjoy the fun?
Here is my latest bit of inspiration...
I love mermaids, and Julia's image is no exception.
She was colored in with Copic markers, with details being added with a white gel pen and a glitter pen..
The embellies are real shells, which seemed fitting for the under the sea theme.

The background was made from a Memory Box die. I wanted to have a curtain look to the background, so I did mirror images of the corner die.

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

Hi my crafty peeps, The latest challenge over at World Wide Open Challenge Design Team blog is open. Why not hop on over and enjoy the fun?
Here is my latest bit of inspiration...
I would have to say out of all of Julia's amazing images, this one is my favourite.
I love the profile, upswept hair, just the whole vintage feel. Since this was done in grayscale, I used Prisma Colored Pencils.
The embellies are fussie cut from scrap paper I had left over from Graphic 45 and the pearls were all put on one at a time.

Moving Along with the Times - Challenge

Hi to all my crafty peeps, Moving Along with the Times has another challenge happening, this time the inspiration is For the Boys. Below is my card...
The image I used is from The Greetin Farm. The stamp is from an older set, but they have a lot of great stamps.
Since the card was for my nephew - Happy birthday Logan! - I couldn't jazz it up too much, so I ended up putting on wooden embellies
Of course I colored him in with Copic markers.

Here is my latest bit of inspiration...
I used another amazing image from Julia Spiri, coloring her in with Copic Markers.
This is one that Julia has recently created. I loved the aspect of the sheer veil, giving me a chance to practice different coloring techniques.
The embellishments are wooden pieces and the flowers are from Wild Orchid.

World Wide Open Design Team Challenge

Hi my crafty peeps, The latest challenge over at World Wide Open Challenge Design Team blog is open. Why not hop on over and enjoy the fun?
Here is my latest bit of inspiration...
I used another amazing image from Julia Spiri, coloring her in with Copic Markers.
In order to expand my creativity, I've been trying images that are somewhat out of my comfort zone. She turned out adorable and makes me think of summer picnics and outside BBQs. I especially love her watermelon purse, lol! She was colored in with Copic markers and the paper is from my scrap stash.

Moving Along with the Time-Challenge Girl's Birthday

Hi to all my crafty peeps, Moving Along with the Times has another challenge happening, this time the inspiration is Girl's Birthday. Below is my card...
The image I used is from The Greeting Farm. I just love the wreath of flowers in her hair. To add more dimension, I stamped the image a second time, added glitter to the flowers and cut them out. I then popped up the wreath for a 3D look!
For more embellishments, I used the paper, from Hobby Lobby, and cut out various sized glitter circles. Then finally I added the saying, which came from Lasting Impressions, which has been in my stash for 100 years or so, LOL!

This image was fun to do. It reminds me of summer and laughter. I decided to go monochromatic but you could do any color combination that struck your fancy. This image would be great to send to a special friend to let the know you're thinking of them.

Moving Along with the Times-Challenge, Words Only

Hello my crafty peeps, It seems that spring weather is finally here, birds are chirping, flowers blooming and the sun is shining. It's time for another fun challenge over at Moving Along with the Times. This time the theme is Words Only, No Images. Below is my inspiration...
I wanted to do something a little different, so I created an Artist Trading Card, known as an ATC. The card itself measures only 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. The stamp set I used is from Red Rubber.
The images I used were done to create the background paper, so I figured it still qualified for the challenge.
The background was colored with Distress Inks, and the images stamped with Archival Ink by Ranger.
The little scissors were cut out 4 times on my Silhouette Cameo and layered together to create the illusion of chipboard!!.

Moving Along with the Times - Challenge Springtime

Hello my crafty peeps, Life has been crazy lately, doing some home renovations, so we all know how that goes. It's time for another fun challenge over at Moving Along with the Times. This time the theme is Spring. Below is my inspiration...
The stamp set is from Chocolate Baroque and the technique is quite simple. I stamped the image and used Liquid Masking Fluid on the single butterfly. You have to let the fluid dry, but it can't be left on too long after that. What I found happened is that if it wasn't completely dry, the paper would pull up, also that would happen if I left it on too long after the drying process. My suggestion, try a few samples first. I then proceeded to ink the back ground, using Tim Holtz Oxide inks, added a few embellies and voila!
