Chocolate Baroque - Guest Design Team member

Good morning my crafty peeps, I’m extremely excited to have been asked to be a Guest Design Team member for this month. Chocolate Baroque has so many new and exciting designs in stamps it’s often hard to choose which ones to use..
Since we are in the middle of the dog days of summer here in Florida, I decided to go with a flower theme.
Supplies: Stamps – Loving Sentiments Rubber Stamp sheet-A5, Ladys Slipper Orchid Colour-Brusho Crystal Colour (Set of 24-Crimson, Violet, Lemon Yellow, Sea Green, and Turquoise) Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black Paper – Watercolor paper, cardstock Waterbrush-Detailer Tip Water Spritzer Bottles-2 pack Double sided Foam Tape Gold photo corner stickers

Cut the watercolor paper to 4” x 5 ¼” (10.16cm x 13.34cm) and stamp the image using Archival ink. When you first begin using your Brusho colors, take a thumb tack, and pierce a hole in the top. I cannot stress enough that a little goes a long way. Lightly spritz the paper with water. This will help the watercolors blend easier.

Being by sprinkling which ever color of Brusho you want to start with onto a non stick surface, then using your watercolor brush, mix a bit of water with the crystals and begin painting in the stamp. Use less water if you want to have deeper colors, and you can mix the colors together to create a specific shade.
Let each color dry before going onto the next color, which will help lessen the chance of colors bleeding together.
Once piece is dry, cut the dark purple cardstock to 5 ½” x 8 ½” (13.97cm x 21.59cm) and fold in half. Cut a piece of light purple cardstock to 4” x 5 ¼”(10.16cm x 13.34cm) and layer onto cardstock base. Next cut a strip of medium purple cardstock, 4” x 1 ¾”(10.16cm x 4.45cm) and place on right hand side of mat. Cut out your image and layer onto card, using foam tape. Stamp the saying onto the white cardstock card with Archival ink, and mat with gold cardstock. Attach the saying to the front, then adhere the photo corner stickers.

Thank you so much to checking out my project, and please join me next week, when I use inks to colour in the stamps.

Chocolate Baroque - Guest Design Team Member Project #2

Good morning my crafty peeps, Here is my next project with Chocolate Baroque. I am diving even further into the uses of Brusho Crystal Colors.
This time I wanted to incorporate more stamping, so using the stamp set, Exquisite Edges I inked up with stamp with Versamark ink, stamped it onto the watercolor paper measuring 4? x 5 1/4:, sprinkled white embossing powder, tapped off excess, then heat set.
Now, if you saw my post last week, you know that when you first get your Brusho Crystal. You'll want to use a tack and pierce a hole in the top.

You are going to want to do this, because a little really does go a long way. I did this to all the colors. Next I sprinkled Yellow and Brilliant Red onto the watercolor paper, and using a spritzer watched the colors come to life.
Now if you want a more blended look, simply spritz with more water. I did use my heat gun to dry it, but you could just as easily let it dry on its own. Where you've embossed, this will act as a resist and really make the stamped image stand out.
Next I stamped the saying using Loving Sentiments and die cut it out. I popped up the saying using foam tape, a few well placed sequins and presto....>br>

Now, as if that wasn't enough, I went ahead and created some more samples using embossing folders...

For this technique, simply sprinkle the crystals into your embossing folder, spritz the folder generously, add the watercolor paper, run through your die cut machine and enjoy the result!
Then I went ahead and used Crafter's Workshop stencil, Specimens. First I laid down the stencil. For this technique, I taped the stencil to the paper. Next I sprinkled the crystals onto the paper, spritzed and lifted off the stencil...
Be sure and drop by the Chocolate Baroque DT Blog for even more interesting and innovative ideas on how to use Chocolate Baroque's amazing stamp sets.
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to check out my card.
Happy crafting!

Terrific Tuesday

Greetings and welcome fellow crafters,

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.  Unfortunately I had to work Saturday and Monday, but I sure enjoyed my Sunday off.

So I've decided the delve into my drawer of "Ongoing" projects...

Inside this drawer are new stuff that I've bought, not exactly recently, and have not yet processed.  By this I mean not put away in their spots.

So each week I'm gonna give you all a little peek into how I organize my supplies or new projects that I've finally got around to making.  This week the latter is true.

Here is the finished card, which I'm thrilled with.  If I had known it was gonna turn out so great I would have finished it ages ago lol

Below is a background I created when I attended a fun workshop at The Stamproom.  I stamped the background with Versamark, then used Pan Pastels to create the background.  I haven't quite mastered these pastels yet, but they can give some spectacular results...
So next I stamped elements for the card using Chocolate Baroque rubberstamps set Butterfly Poppy Collage, this stamp set was also in the aforementioned drawer lol.
Graycie really liked the butterfly...
I fussy cut the elements out, pop dotted a few of them up, then using an old stamp I had from Hero Arts, I stamped the saying onto the front using Distress Ink then heat embossed it with clear powder,

So after I added my bling and doo dads, once again here is the finished card, along with the inside.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week, take care and happy crafting...
